Product Details

Open source PiColeco flash cartridge created by A. Ottaviani. Based on a variation of the Rasperry Pi Pico with additional flash memory.

The cartridge is ready to use. Files are organized into alphabetical and numeric folders for easy menu navigation with the controller.

Compatible with most commercial games and some homebrew titles. Also compatible with some homebrew titles up to 128k that require the Opcode Super Game Module. The cartridge has nearly 15MB of onboard storage, which is more than enough to hold every Colecovision game ever created with room to spare. No memory card is needed.

The PiColeco cartridge has the following features:

  • Plug and play - Preloaded with over 200 files
  • Circuit board with beveled edge for reduced wear on Colecovision cartridge connector
  • Durable 3D printed ABS plastic cartridge shell
  • Gold plated circuit board edge connectors
  • Loaded with latest firmware (1.0b) available
  • Reset button to return to the menu
  • Digital user guide included - Printed copy upon request
  • Games can be added and firmware upgraded via the USB-C port at the top of the cartridge without any special software. Drag and drop or copy and paste the files just like you would with a flash drive. Pressing the reset button on the cartridge will return to the menu screen.
  • users guide will be provided after purchase in a downloadable pdf

PiColeco bugs/minor issues:

Some titles will require pressing the reset button on the Colecovision after the loading screen before the game will start. The current firmware is not compatible with all games. The "turn power off" screen can display briefly before the PiColeco splash screen after powering up the system and after a reset.

Please note that technical support is not available beyond the information that is included in the provided user guide. The user guide contains information on using the PiColeco as well as several resources for support.

We take as much care as possible when 3D printing the cartridge case but sometimes there may be blemishes in the prints.

The PiColeco was created by A. Ottaviani.
